"Beautiful Lies"
This brief discussion will explore the use of included and excluded objects in a composition that drive the message of the work of art. Both artists and art lovers will enjoy this walk through what is hidden and what is revealed in art - and how each influences composition and our perceptions of art. The use of shape, form and space will be discussed. This session will include a 10 minute talk followed by an open discussion.

"Our Brains on Art"
This brief discussion will explore how our brains function – from our visual to our neural systems – and how each helps us perceive art very individually. The human brain and visual centers govern how we both create and appreciate art. We will explore light as perceived through the cones in our retinas, as well as how our brain’s memory centers influence our perception of art. Topics such as how our visual systems influence modern camera technology will be included.

This brief discussion will explore the use and influence of color in art. Color is one of the languages of visual art. Color can influence us in very individual and specific ways, creating emphasis, harmony, tension, pattern, or illusion. No two beings experience color in exactly the same way. We will explore the relationship between light and color, and how color can define space and emotion.
